Linda Bailey-Walker is Chief Executive Officer of Morgan Walker International (MWI), a New York-based beverage branding consulting firm. Her Expertise: Walker is certified by the Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation as a facilitator of corporate negotiation skills training. Under the leadership development practice her firm provides management training and executive coaching. On the leadership development side she has consulted for The Economist Group, The New York Times, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Time Warner, Credit Suisse First Boston, Deutsche Bank, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, HSBC Bank, the U.S. Department of Commerce, Simon and Schuster, Avon, and the United Nations among others. Her Experience: Prior to entering private practice, Walker was director of organizational development and training for Viacom Inc., one of the nation’s largest media companies including MTV Networks, Showtime, Paramount Pictures, and several theme parks. Prior to Viacom, she was senior management development specialist for Goldman, Sachs and Co., where she designed and delivered leadership programs at the Firm’s London, Tokyo and New York offices. She has held other positions with The Travelers Companies as lead facilitator of Negotiation Skills training and as Vice President of Diversified Systems Group.
In addition to her corporate experience, Walker has also worked in public and non-profit organizations. As a management specialist for the International Trade Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce, she received a Bronze Medal for her analysis of world trade issues. She has also served as a consultant for the UN Decade of Women where she researched the status of education for women in over 70 countries. Building on her interest in international affairs, Walker worked as: a press correspondent at the UN, a Capitol Hill lobbyist for the International Health Network a consortium of medical schools, and as national training director for Meridian House International, a network of over 90 international exchange organizations.
Prior to all of the above, Walker started her career as a public school teacher in New Jersey.
Her education includes: study abroad honors at Oxford University-New College, United Kingdom, doctoral studies at Columbia University (ABD/all but dissertation), a Master of Arts degree from The Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Morgan State University. Ms. Walker also holds professional certifications in: EQI-Emotional Intelligence Inventory, the Leadership Effectiveness Analysis™, the DISC™ Personal Profile System, and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. As a guest speaker for many organizations, she has delivered keynote presentations for Verizon, Ryder, and Oxford University-St. Edmund Hall.
Recognition and Service: Linda’s accomplishments have been recognized by the Network Journal as recipient of its ’25 Influential Women in Business Award’, and by The Links as a recipient of their International Leadership Award. She was been featured in The New York Post and the weekly television show: Woman of The Week. Linda is also a member of several professional associations including the Business Council of the UN, The Oxford University Society, the British-American Chamber of Commerce, the National Association of Women Business Owners, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and the American Society for Training and Development. Linda enjoys antique shopping, chamber music, and African Art. She has been a lover of vintage fashion over the last 40 years.
